Expanding My Word Power

My mom loves to write. She wants us to have a love of writing and words, too. So for homeschool, we’ve been doing word of the day. After two weeks of some pretty robust words (see what I did there? “Robust” was one of our words), and a whole unit on World War II since we’re getting ready to go to Normandy, my mom gave me the challenge to do some writing today about DDay, using a few of our new words. Once I got started, I couldn’t stop. I challenged myself to use all the words. Here’s what I came up with:

The German military, in its robust, bulky, colossal size, had many vacant spaces. This lead the Jews to believe they were going to be set free, but this was outrageous. Meanwhile, the Germans invaded Normandy, a dazzling and flawless place. The Germans destroyed the Normans. The impeccable Allies, being assertive, wanted to express their fiery feelings to the Germans. This led them to storm the beaches of Normandy and push back the audacious German forces. This was called DDay.

It felt so good to pass my own challenge!
