Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is my favorite game and when I found out there was a book that it was based on, I knew I had to read it. As it turns out, I love the book too. Rainbow Six follows John Clark, a retired veteran who has skills some would only dream off. The book starts with John Clark on a plane going to England, when terrorists hijack it. As I was reading, I realized this was the first time I was actually scared of someone in a book. Tom Clancy really puts the reader in a situation of anticipation. John Clark, his son-in-law, and a former SAS operative dispatch of the terrorists quickly and without any casualties, which is really hard to do in the cramped space of a commercial airline flight with a lot of people. They are then taken to Hereford Base, home of the SAS. My dad is from Hereford, so I’ve had the opportunity to go by the base in the midlands of England. A world leader in special forces, John Clark is then asked to start a new, elite, best of the best special forces unit comprised of the best from each special forces units in the world, This is called Rainbow Six. That is where I will leave you on a cliffhanger because I can’t really say more without revealing too much and I don’t want to spoil it for you. If you like action, I recommend it. STRONGLY.
